REVEALED: New LEGO Star Wars Summer 2017 Sets

At last week's New York Toy Fair 2017, LEGO unveiled their Star Wars Summer 2017 sets and I have the delight of showing you what's coming later this year.

I showed you the new LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar yesterday and expressed my disappointment at the contents, especially the lack of interesting minifigures. I am however very happy with the new sets coming this summer.

The Rathtar Escape and the Darth Vader Transformation will be my first purchases, and the Battle Pack and Bounty Hunter Pack will certainly come after. Check out the seven new sets below.

1. Rathtar Escape - 75180
With 5 minifigures included, this looks like the best in the new collection, and a must buy for fans of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Packed with lots of play features, the set recreates one of the best scenes in the movie. The Rathtar's themselves are not complete minifigures, but brick-built and look fantastic. There are also some technic pieces sticking out of the side, which indicates that the set can be expanded upon to recreate the maze of corridors. The minifigures are particularly cool and include an aged Han Solo with new face print.

2. Jakku Quadjumper - 75178
A rather strange choice in ship as it doesn't feature heavily in The Force Awakens but it does look good and includes five minifigures, although, as far as we can tell, none of them are original. But for such a minor vehicle in the movies, it's certainly a strange choice from LEGO.

3. Darth Vader Transformation - 75183
It's a remake of set 7251 but a welcomed one as it looks fantastic! It's only a small set, but it will probably be the cheapest way to get the new Darth Vader. Three minifigures are included with set 75183 and as an iconic scene from the Star Wars franchise, I think I'll be buying it.

4. First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack - 75166
For a small set, I love this. The stormtroopers come complete with riot shields and there's an exclusive First Order Commander.

5. Bounty Hunter Pack - 75167
This set isn't yet complete (see picture below) so I can't really give my opinion but a small set with four classic Star Wars bounty hunter minifigures should hopefully be value for money.

6. The Arrowhead - 75186
For a new ship it looks a lot like the LEGO Gungan submarine, which isn't a bad thing as it does look good. It's likely to have a higher price point, and with 775 pieces and 5 minifigures, it's probably one for collectors only.

7. Tracker I - 75185
It looks a lot like the original LEGO Star Wars Tie Interceptor but again, that's not a bad thing. The set comes complete with 3 minifigures and a droid and like The Arrowhead will probably only appeal to LEGO Star Wars collectors as the ship isn't particularly iconic in the Star Wars universe.
